Membership is Free!

I have decided to end the Paid Memberships Program and just go with the Points Program. If you are a paid member, you signed up for a lifetime membership and are no longer paying for memberships. I am not really making any money from new memberships so it does not make sense to keep that part of my business going. Instead, membership is going to be point based. I do not plan to change this again. My income will be from sales of Paper Bead Rollers, downloads for people who don't want to be a member, books I publish in the future on Amazon, templates and template bundles, ads on the site and YouTube revenue.

All downloads, that cost points, no matter what level you are at, will now cost 20,000 points each unless otherwise noted on the individual pages.

This square mat would actually be great as an afghan made up of a bunch of these squares with the perimeter round left off. This mat uses the special stitch the Crosshatch Stitch I from the Harmony Guide to Crochet Techniques and Stitches.

Materials Needed:
Any worsted weight yarn. I used a test skein of yarn from Caron.
Size H aluminum crochet hook
Yarn Needle for weaving in ends

Gauge: 7dc=2"
Yarn Thickness 3mm
Finished Size: =12"x12"
Skill Level: Beginner

How to do Reverse Sc.
Insert hook in previous st. Draw up a lp, yo and draw yarn through lps on hook. Rep from beg. This creates a twisted effect.

Instructions
ROW 1: Ch49. Sk first 2 chs. (counts as first dc.) 2dc in next ch. *Sk 3 chs. sc in next ch. ch3. 1 dc in each of the next 3 chs. Rep from * to last 4 chs. Sk 3 chs. sc in last ch. Ch3, turn.

ROW 2: 2dc in first sc. *Sc in first ch of next ch3. Ch3. Dc in each of the next 2 chs. Dc in next sc. Rep from * across. Sc in first ch of next ch3. Ch3, turn.

ROW 3-16: Rep row 2. But do not turn at end of row 16.

Perimeter
RND 1: Dc, ch2, 2dc in same st as sc. *2Dc in ch3 of next row working down left side. Dc in sc of next row. Rep from * down left side. Then work 2dc in last row. Then 2dc, ch2, 2dc in corner sc. Now along bottom: 2dc in next ch3 of starting ch. Sk next 2 dc, sc in next dc. **3dc in sc on starting ch. Sk next 2 dc, sc in next dc. Rep from ** across to last sc. 2dc in this sc. 2dc, ch2, 2dc in next corner st. Rep as for left side. Then repeat next corner, then repeat as for bottom. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 2 & 3: Ch3. Dc in each dc around working 2dc, ch2, 2dc in each ch2 corner sp. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 4: Work a reverse sc in each st all the way around.
