Beaded Choker
Designed By Julie A. Bolduc
This choker is made with crochet cotton but for a more lustrous look could be made with rayon thread. The crocheted part is worked first then the beads are sewn on. It would look great with a semi formal dress or any red outfit where the neck is exposed.

ROW 2: 2sc in first "ch2sp" 1 sc in next ch where you worked 3dc. Rep from beg across. Ch1, turn.
ROW 3: Sc in each sc across. Fasten off leaving an 8" end. Now attach clasp to end threads and secure and weave ends into back of work.
Sewing on beads.
Lay the choker in front of you so the bumps are facing you. Count over from the left 12 bumps. Place a pin between the 12th and 13th bump. The 13th bumb is where you will start putting the beads.
Using the black sewing thread and thin needle, sew the beads onto the tip of each bump but make sure to work an over hand stitch between each bump to get from one to the next bump. Sew on the beads in this manner: String on number of seed beads then one pearl bead, then one seed bead as indicated for each set below, then work the thread over the single seed bead then back through the pearl and the rest of the seed beads then secure with an over hand stitch on the tip of the bump. Then do the next set. When you are all done with all 13 sets of beads. Weave the ends of the thread into the back of work and fasten off. Following is the order in which you should work the beads.
Set 1-3: 1 seed, 1 3mm pearl, 1seed.
Set 4: 2seeds, 1 3mm pearl, 1seed.
Set 5: 3seeds, 1 5mm pearl, 1seed.
Set 6: 4seeds, 1 5mm pearl, 1seed.
Set 7: 5seeds, 1 5mm pearl, 1seed.
Set 8: 4seeds, 1 5mm pearl, 1seed.
Set 9: 3seeds, 1 5mm pearl, 1seed.
Set 10: 2seeds, 1 3mm pearl, 1seed.
Set 11-13: 1seed, 1 3mm pearl, 1seed.
