Daily Update - December 29, 2021
What am I Doing?
On December 28, yesterday, I had to make more laminated templates so I didn't get a chance to work on the next block so I should be able to get it finished and uploaded sometime later today or tomorrow. December 29 or 30.
I am working on a series of Quilt Block Videos done in the Quilt as You Piece method. When I am done, there should be 30 quilt blocks that I will then put together with sashing in between the blocks. I do plan to make a video of putting the quilt together. This is the primary way I make quilts.
The quilt in the photo is the front of the quilt block, the back is the same pattern, just different fabrics. The patterns and materials list are on the site as well, the same day I post the video I make for each block. The very first block, Five Strip Rail Fence is free for everyone, no points needed and no membership needed. Most of the rest of the blocks for this quilt will be for Members. You can get them with points or for $1.99 each or as a Gold member, you will not need to redeem points or pay anything for the PDF files.
This pattern is Free on December 29th only.
This little candle was going to be one of those candles made with a bath tissue roll but when I put the little tealight inside after finishing the 3rd round, I just had to make it a little candle holder as you see here! You could make several of these and put them around your house or give them as party favors! One more thing! You may not have noticed, this pattern matches the Little Fir Christmas Tree!
Featured Bead Sheet
This bead sheet is Not Free.
Beads from this bead sheet would look great with white, clear, blue and crystal beads in any jewelry design.
This is the 17th quilt block tutorial in a series on how to make quilt blocks using the new Quilt as You Piece Method.
This Week's Tip
Handy Pencil & Small Tool Holders
Use coffee mugs for holding small tools, pens, pencils and markers! Just keep the handle to the back to keep it out of your way. Then when it needs to be cleaned, you can either wash it by hand or put it in the dishwasher and get out another one to use for awhile
