This hexagon is just the thing to make a pretty afghan. This motif would be a good way to use up scraps of yarn you have kicking around. You could make each round a different color if you want to as well.
Every day, from now on, I will post a pattern that is always free. Since all of the Gold members patterns will be available for points, eventually, and I am giving away one free pattern per day with the Scavenger Hunt, I figured this would be fair to the Gold Members and everyone else.

Points Program News
Points accounts is Back!
I am still ironing out the little wrinkles in the system but it is up and running! Sign up now and join in the fun! Earn points for use in downloading Gold Members only files! I am slowly adding download buttons you can use to redeem points for patterns and templates. The buttons will be placed on a download page like it was on the old version of the site last year. It will take awhile to add all of them.
I have come up with something that Gold members can redeem their points for. The way I expect to be able to set it up is I will make a page just for Gold members that will have listings on it that you can redeem points for. The items will be things I already sell at Amazon and Etsy but they will be available through the points system. Only for Gold members. There may be shipping charges, there may be not. I will be getting that part of the Points Program set up within the next couple of months. So meanwhile, keep adding points to your points account so you can take advantage of the discounts and perhaps freebies when redeeming points!
Seedling Starter If you use paper dixie cups, the 3 oz size, you can make seed starters with them. Just push one of those tiny filters for resuable K cups in one of the cups, fill it with potting mix, place your seed in the center, cover with more soil. When the seed sprouts, pop the filter with the dirt out of the cut and place into your hole in the ground or next size up pot. This will prevent from having to disturb the roots. You can also recycle used store bought used k-cups this way. Just remove the insides from the k-cup and wash before using.
Deer Repellent! When planting a garden, hang some nylon peds stockings near the plants with pieces of deodorant soap in them. This will help deter the deer and other animals from getting into the garden. They don't like the smell. You can also use small muslin drawstring bags available online. Just tie them on stakes near your plants.
