Scavenger Hunt

Today's Scavenger Hunt Item
The item for Today is below.
Item: You are hunting for "a Quilt Block".
Clue: You will find it in the Scrunchie patterns!

I am now using images that are in the free Paper Bead Generator for the daily Scavenger Hunt Items.

The daily scavenger hunt item can only be found for one day.
I no longer keep them available to find for the whole month.

The instant prize could be either a discount or a download of something that is free for today only.

 Coming Soon!

When the points program starts, I will place a special code on the page that will have the scavenger hunt item on it, that you can use to get some points when you find the Scavenger Hunt Item!. It will be a different code every single day. More details to come.

Featured Pattern

This pattern is available for paid members or for $1.99.

This tight fitting long tissue box cover starts off with making 20 squares of the same size. 8 of them are Stitched together to form the top and the other 12 are stitched together to form the sides. The top has 2 rounds of single crochet and the sides have a round of sc and half double crochet on each side. The top is stitched to the bottom with a different type of slip stitch technique that forms a small ridge along the top outside edge of the box. It is fun and fairly easy to make and can be completed in few evenings.

Rosettes Tissue Box Cover

Every day, from now on, I will post either a members only pattern or a free pattern. It will say whether it is free or not. Once a week, I will offer 1 paid members pattern per week. It will be on Sunday Each Week. This is so I can feature current holiday related patterns, whether they are free or not.

Desk Top Caddy is Back!

I have added a new section to the site! Other Projects! So far there is only two projects in there. The projects that will be in this section will be unrelated to crochet and paper bead making. I plan to add more random projects as time goes by. Most of them, in the future will be for paid members but the projects that existed before on Paper Bead Crafts and the JPF Crochet Club, that were not related, will be free if they were free to begin with.

Points Program Update

Points accounts will be coming back. Not sure when, when I get it all set up, I will let you know.

1. There will be 4 levels. Registered, Bronze, Silver and Gold.
2. Levels will be based on how many points you have accumulated.
3. The higher the level, the more you get.
4. Gold level members get access to all member areas on the site.
5. Everyone who is a member now, will be at the Gold level at the start.
6. Redeeming points will not be included, at first, just earning points for level access. I have figured out what I am going to do but it will take weeks to get it completely set up.

7. When launched, members who are registered can get  points, for finding the Scavenger Hunt Item, and people who are not members, will get to the page that item is on for free. That page will be made public. It may even be a cutting template!
8. I will be bringing back the Paw Tracker Game! It will be played a little differently though.
9. When I launch the Redemption Center, members who are at the New User level, Bronze and Silver levels will be able to redeem points for crochet pattern pdf files, bead sheet bundles, paper bead templates and other downloadable files I add to the site. The point "prices" may vary depending on the file size or type of download it is. It will be a slow process to add the files so what I am going to do is announce the availability of the files in the redemption center in this newsletter as I make them available. Perhaps it will be part of the Featured Pattern part of the newsletter. In other words, they will only be made available for point redemption when I announce they are available. Gold members, nothing changes for you. You still have access to the files as they are now, that is not going to change. The redemption center for now, is for members who are not at the Gold level.

I will post details later and as I figure out how it's all going to work. It will be way different from the old system. It will not work the same. Everyone will start at the lowest level except those who have ever paid for lifetime membership or pays for membership in the future.  Future members who pay the 12 monthly payments plan, will lose their Gold status if they cancel their monthly payments before the monthly payments end on their own after 12 payments. Some of the information here on this update may change as I figure everything out. I am still working on this and making progress. I am hoping for a May 15 to June 1st 2020 launch. I have actually been working on this for several weeks!

Tuesday's Tips

Yo Yo Templates Made Easy.:If you make a lot of yoyos a good template for making them of different sizes is to use various sized plastic lids. Put an address label on a lid and mark on it how big the lid is in inches and Centimeters then put it in your craft box. Then when you need a certain size circle for any reason, just pull out the correct size lid to mark your fabric

Pencil Cups
Any plastic container which is tall and skinny can be made into a handy pencil cup by crocheting a circle to fit the bottom of the container then continuing in a pattern stitch up the length of the container keeping it the diameter of the circle size on the bottom. This is how I made the pencil cup with the round Crystal Light container.
