This bag is really easy to make and is ample big enough to use for a quick trip to the local grocery store for just a few items. If you are determined to make a few of them, you should expect to spend about 8 - 12 hours on each one. It depends on how fast you do basic double crochet stitches.
Materials Needed
1000 or more yards Speed Cro Sheen in ecru 7oz
Size E/4 3.50mm Aluminum Crochet Hook
Yarn needle for weaving in ends.
Yarn Thickness: 2mm
Gauge: 6dc = 1"
Finished Size: 12" w x 15" h x 5" d
Skill Level: Intermediate
Instructions
Bottom
ROW 1: Ch60. Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch3, turn. (58 stitches across including the ch3 at the beginning.)
ROW 2-11: Sk very first dc. Dc in each dc across and in top of ch3. Ch3, turn. At the end of ROW 11. Do not turn. Just ch1.
Body: Now you will work in rounds.
RND 1: Ch1. Sc in corner sp. 2sc in each row to next corner space. 3sc in next corner sp. Sc in each st across bottom to next corner st. Work 3 sc in corner st. Work 2 sc in each row up right hand side to the next corner. Work 3 sc in corner st. Sc in each st across to where you began. Work 2 sc in same st as first sc. Join w/slst to first sc.
RND 2: For this round only, dc around post of each sc around. Join w/slst to first dc.
RND 3-8: Ch3. Dc in each dc around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 9: Ch5. Sk 2 dc. *Dc in next dc. Ch2. Sk 2 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.
RND 10-27: Ch5. *Dc in next dc. Ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.
RND 28: Ch3. 2dc in next ch2 sp. *Dc in next dc. 2dc in next ch2 sp. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 29-30: Ch3. Dc in each dc around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 31: Ch3. Dc in each of the next 3 dc. Ch15. Sk next 15 dc. Dc in each of the next 64 dc. Ch15. Sk next 15 dc. Dc in each of the next 60 dc. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 32: Ch3. Dc in each of the next 3 dc. 24dc in next ch15 sp. Dc in each of the next 64 dc. 24 dc in next ch15 sp. Dc in each of the next 60 dc. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 33 & 34: Ch3. Dc in each dc around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 35: Ch1. Slst in each dc around. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.
