Old Town Bookmark
Designed By Julie A. BolducThis bookmark is fast and easy to make and is named after a town in Maine where my daughter used to live! She is the one that named the bookmark while on a recent visit to my place!
- Materials Needed
- Size 10 crochet cotton in any color
- Size 7 steel crochet hook
- Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends
Yarn Thickness: 10 thread
Gauge: 8sc = 1"
Finished Size: 8-1/4" x 1-1/8"
Skill Level: Intermediate
Instructions
RND 1: Ch7. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch3, 14dc in ring. Do not join. Now you will be working in rows.
ROW 1: Ch1. 2sc around post of last dc made. 3sc in starter ring. 2sc in starter ch3. Slst in top of that same ch3. Ch3, turn.
ROW 2: Dc in first sc. Dc in each of the next 5 sc. 2dc in last sc. Ch3, turn. (7dc across)
ROW 3: Dc in first dc. Ch2. Sk 2 dc. 2dc in next dc. Ch2. Sk 2 dc. 2dc in top of ch3. Ch3, turn
ROW 4: Dc in next dc. Ch2. Sk 2 dc. 2dc in next dc. Ch1. 2dc in next dc. Ch2. Sk next 2 dc. Dc in next dc and in top of ch3. Ch3, turn.
ROW 5-28: Dc in next dc. Ch2. Sk next 2 dc. 2dc, ch1, 2dc in next ch1 sp. Ch2. Sk next 2 dc. Dc in next dc and in top of ch3. Ch3, turn. At the end of ROW 28, ch1, turn.
ROW 29: Sc in first dc. Sc in next dc. Ch1, 9tr in next ch1 sp. Ch1. Sk next 2 dc. Sc in next dc and in top of ch3. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.
