This lacy doily works up fairly fast. I was able to complete it in two nights. Including writing down the instructions.

Materials Needed:
White size 10 Crochet Cotton (what ever you like.)
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Spray Starch
Tapestry Needle

Yarn Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 8dc per inch
Finished Size: =9" diameter
Skill Level: Easy

Instructions
RND 1: Ch6, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch7, *tr in ring. Ch3. Re[ from * 10 more times. Join w/slst to 4th ch of ch7.

RND 2: Slst into first ch3 sp. Ch4, 2 tr in same sp. Ch3, *3tr in next sp. Ch3. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch4.

RND 3: Slst in the trs and into the first ch3 sp. Wk the fol in ch3 sp. *(sc, ch8, slst in 8th ch from hk, sc) Ch6. Rep from * around. But instead of last ch6, ch3, dc in first sc.

RND 4: Sc in lp made from ch3 & dc in last rnd. Ch3. *7dc in ch8 lp, dc in ch6 lp. Rep from * around.

RND 5: Ch7. Tr in same st as slst. Ch5, *sc in 3rd dc of the 7dc shell. Ch5, sk last 3 dc of shell, tr, ch3, tr in next dc. Ch5. Rep from * around. Join w/slst in 4th ch of ch7.

RND 6: Slst into the first ch3 sp. Ch4, 2 tr in same sp. Ch5, tr in next 2 ch 5 sps. Ch5, * 3 tr in next ch3 sp. Ch5, 1 tr in next 2 ch5 sps. Ch5. Rep from * around. Join w/slst in top of ch4.

RND 7: Slst in the 2tr & first 2 chs of the first ch5 lp, sc in same lp. Ch3, * sc in tr, Ch8, sc in next tr, ch3, sc in next ch5 lp. Ch6, sc in next ch5 lp. Ch3. Rep from * around but slst to the first sc in rnd at the end.

RND 8: Ch1, *11 dc in ch8 lp. Sc in sc. Ch3. (dc, ch3, dc) in ch6 lp. Ch3. Sc in sc. Rep from * around but at the last sc. Sc in sc. Slst to join.

RND 9: (*ch6, sk 4 dc. Dc, ch3, dc) in the next dc. Ch6, sk 4 dc, sc in next dc. Ch6, sk next ch3 lp. Sc in next ch3 lp. Ch 6, sk next ch3 lp. Sc in first dc of the next 11 dc shell. Rep from *around. But at the last ch6, do the fol, instead of ch3, dc in first sc in rnd to join.

RND 10: *Ch6, dc, ch3, dc in ch3. sp. Ch6, sc in ch5 sp. Ch5, sc in next ch5 sp. ch5. Prep from * around. Join w/slst in top of dc.

RND 11: Sl st in the first 3 chs of the first ch6 lp. Ch6, *wk the fol in the next ch3 sp. (tr, ch1, 5 times. tr) Ch3, dc in ch6 sp. Ch3, 3 tr in ch5 sp. Ch3. Rep from * around. Join with a sl st in 3rd ch of ch6.

RND 12: Ch6, *dc, ch2, dc (vst made) Dc in ch1 sp. Ch2, sk1 ch 1 sp. Vst in next ch1 sp. Ch2, sk 1 ch1 sp. vst in next ch1 sp. Ch3, dc in dc. Ch3, vst in 2nd tr, ch3, dc in dc, ch3. Rep from * around. Join w/slst in 3rd ch of ch6.

RND 13: Ch6, *vst in vst. Ch4, sc in next vst. Ch4. Vst in vst. Ch3, dc in dc, ch3, vst in vst. Ch3, dc in dc, ch3. Rep from * around

RND 14: Ch6, *vst in vst. Ch4. (Sc in ch 4 sp twice.) Ch4, vst in vst. Ch3, dc in dc, ch3, vst in vst. Ch3, dc in dc. Ch3. rep from * around. Join w/slst in 3rd ch of ch6.

RND 15: Ch3, *vst in vst, ch3, sc in ch4 lp. 7 dc in next ch4 sp. Sc in next ch4 sp. Ch3, vst in vst. Ch3, sc in ch3 sp. 7 dc in vst, sc in next ch3 sp. Ch3. Rep from * around. Fasten off & weave ends into work.

Starching
To starch the doily, use a hot iron, a damp piece of muslin, an ironing board and any commercial spray starch. I used Niagra Spray starch available in any grocery or discount store. Lay the doily on the muslin and lightly spray the doily all over. Cover the doily with another peice of muslin and iron lightly enough to flatten the slight ruffles you may have in the doily. You may need to stretch it into shape a bit to get it to come out just the way you want it. Let is cool and dry completely before removing it from the ironing board. No need for pins.
