Memorial Bow Fridgie
Designed By Julie A. Bolduc
In honor of Memorial Day in the US, I have designed this bow which is easy to make and will remind us of the sacrifices our servicemen and women made for us for the sake of our freedom. You can use it as a pin or a refrigerator magnet.
Materials Needed:
Size 10 crochet cotton in red
Size 10 crochet cotton in white
Size 10 crochet cotton in blue
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends
Magnet back or pin back
Gauge: 10sc = 1"
Finished Size: 4"x5"
Skill Level: Beginner
Instructions
"Ribbon:"
ROW 1: With Red. Ch183. or make 18" of chain. Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. Fasten off.
ROW 2: With white, start at the beginning of the first row. Join thread at top of ch3. Ch3. Dc in each dc across. Fasten off.
ROW 3: With Blue, repeat row 2.
Center Ring:
RND 1: Center part of bow. With red. Ch16. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch3. Dc in each ch around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off.
RND 2: With white. Join thread to same st as slst. Ch3. Dc in each st around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off.
RND 3: With Blue. Rep row 2. Weave all ends into back of work on both the center and the "Ribbon".
Finishing Assembly: Fold up the crocheted ribbon and pass it through the center ring to form a double looped bow. Glue Magnet to back. The folding of the ribbon, to get it just right can take a bit of fussing. I used a crochet hook to pull the ends through the ring.

Please note: I am now selling all of my paper bead making tools and other items from this web site using Paypal payments.
I have removed all of my paper bead making tools from Amazon. My Kindle crochet pattern books and paper template paperback books continue to be available on Amazon, as they are printed and fulfilled directly by Amazon. A limited number of paper bead making tools remain available on Etsy but I am not linking to those tools from this site.
Random Quick Tip!
New Pencil CupUse an empty plastic juice concentrate container to make a pencil cup. Just cover it with crochet, fabric or leather! I have a couple of pencil cup patterns on the site that use a Crystal Lite container which is just about the same size as a frozen juice container.
