Wild Granny Square

Wild Granny Square

Designed by Julie A Bolduc

I have designed this square with two different last rounds so that you can have a choice as to the look you want to achieve. The purple & yellow square uses the RND 6A instructions and the Plain Cream colored square uses the RND 6B instructions. This would be great for use in potholders.

You could use heavy rug yarn to make this into a potholder. Can you imagine an afghan made using the two colors as in the purple and yellow one! Talk about wild!

    Materials Needed:
  • 2 colors worsted weight yarn.
  • Red Heart was used in the big example.
  • Excellence by Nomis, in Winter White, was used for the solid color.
  • Red Heart off white, light brown, and orange variegated was used in the multicolored square.
  • Size G aluminum Crochet Hook
  • Yarn needle

  • Gauge: 4dc=1"
  • Yarn Thickness: 4mm
  • Finished Size: 6"
  • Skill Level: Beginner

Please note: I am now selling all of my paper bead making tools and other items from this web site using Paypal payments.

I have removed all of my paper bead making tools from Amazon. My Kindle crochet pattern books and paper template paperback books continue to be available on Amazon, as they are printed and fulfilled directly by Amazon. A limited number of paper bead making tools remain available on Etsy but I am not linking to those tools from this site.

Random Quick Tip!

Storing Printed Templates
You can save future time by printing off a few copies of the paper bead templates at one time and storing them in page protectors in a 3 ring binder. Then when you need that template again, you will not have to print more off. Just look in your 3 ring binder to see if you already printed some.
