Ice Crystal Snowflake
Designed By Julie A. BolducThis snowflake is fast and easy to make and you could make several in an evening. It is just the right size for a package topper or you could even make a bunch and hang them in your window.
Materials Needed
Small amount white size 10 crochet cotton.
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends
Fabric Stiffener
Ornament hanger of choice
Gauge: 10sc=1"
Finished Size: 3¾" diam

Instructions
RND 1: Ch18, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch3. Dc in next ch. Ch4. Sk next ch. *Dc in each of the next 2 chs. Ch4. Sk next ch. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 2: Ch3. Dc in next dc. Ch3. Sc in next ch4 sp. Ch3. *Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Ch3. Sc in next ch4 sp. Ch3. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 3: Ch3. Dc in next dc. Ch3. Dc in each of the next 2 ch3 spaces. Ch3. *Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Ch3. Dc in each of the next 2 ch3 spaces. Ch3. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 4: Ch1. Sc in next dc. Ch3. Tr, ch2, tr in next dc. Ch5. Tr, ch2, tr in next dc. Ch3. *Sc in each of the next 2 dc. Ch3. Tr, ch2, tr in next dc. Ch5. Tr, ch2, tr in next dc. Ch3. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off. Weave ends into work.
Stiffen by dipping snowflake into stiffener. Pin onto drying board making sure to open up the ch5 spaces at each point. Use three pins at each point. one for the very tip of the point and the other 2 to open up the space to form a diamond shape opening. Allow to dry overnight for best results.
