Pearl Beaded Suncatcher

This crocheted, beaded suncatcher is fast and easy to make and just uses a few beads. After you are done crocheting it, you weave the starting end through round one to close the center hole.

Materials Needed
DMC #8 Perle Cotton in color perle
Size 7 steel crochet hook
1 brass ring 3" in diameter
22 pearl beads, 4mm in size
Fine tapestry needle thin enough to go through beads

Yarn Thickness: 8 or 20 thread
Gauge: 12sc=1"
Finished Size: 3" in diameter
Skill Level: Intermediate, or beginner with thread and beads

Instructions
String 21 beads onto thread. The last one is used as part of the hanger.

RND 1: Ch21. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch5, dc in same st as slst. Ch2. Sk 2 chs. *Dc, ch2, dc in next ch. Ch2, sk 2 chs. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 2: Slst into the first ch2 s. Ch5, ch2, dc, ch2, dc, ch2, dc in same sp. Ch1. Sk next ch2 sp. *Dc, ch2, dc, ch2, dc, ch2, dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Sk next ch2 sp. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 3: (Ch3, bring up a bead. Dc in next dc. Ch6. Dc in next dc, bring up a bead. Ch3. Sc in next dc. Bring up a bead.) *Sc in next dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first ch of ch 3. Fasten off & weave finishing end into work. With needle, weave the starting end through RND 1 and gather up to close. Weave rest of end into back of work.

Assembly:
Join thread to brass ring and one of the ch6 lps of ornament. Sc in same sp. Work 15 sc in brass ring. *Sc in next ch6 lp and brass ring. 15 sc in brass ring. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc. Fasten off. Weave ends into work.

Attach a piece of thread to make hanger at top of one of the lps. Place bead on hanger. I used a size 14 hook which actually fits through the hole of the bead to pull the loop of the hanger through the bead.

NOTE: I used the left over scrap of thread from the Pearl Beaded Headband and left over beads from the 60" strand of beads I had to make this ornament.
