Heavenly Angel
Designed by Julie A BolducThis angel is the 3rd angel I have designed using a doll pin with a stand. She would be a great addition to anyone's angel collection. She would also make a great Mother's Day gift.
Materials Needed
Small amount white size 10 Crochet Cotton. Southmaid was used for the example
1 wooden Doll pin and stand (Available at Wal-Mart's crafts department)
Size 7 Steel Crochet Hook
Tapestry Needle
Hot Glue
Yarn Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 10sc=1"
Finished Size: 4"x3½

Instructions
Start with Dress
RND 1: Ch16, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch3. Dc each ch around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch4.
RND 2-4: Ch3. Dc in each dc around.
RND 5: Ch4. *Dc in next dc. Ch1. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch4.
RND 6: Ch3, dc in same st as slst. Ch3, slst in 3rd ch from hook. (Picot made) *2dc in next dc. Ch3, slst in 3rd ch from hook. (Picot Made) Rep from * around.
RND 7: Slst into the sp between first 2 dc. Ch3, dc in same sp. Ch3. *2dc in sp between next 2 dc after the picot. Ch3. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 8: Slst into the sp between first 2 dc. Ch3, dc in same sp. Ch3, slst in 3rd ch from hook. (Picot made). *Sk next ch3 sp. 2dc in sp between next 2 dc. Ch3, slst in 3rd ch from hook. (Picot Made) Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 9-12: Rep rnds 7 & 8 twice.
RND 13: Rep rnd 7 one more time.
RND 14: Sc in same st as slst. Ch3, slst in 3rd ch from hook. Sc in next dc. 5dc in ch3 sp. *Sc in next dc. Ch3, slst in 3rd ch from hook. Sc in next dc. 5dc in ch3 sp. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc. Fasten off and weave ends into work.
Arms
Tie thread on post of 4th dc of very first row. Ch11, dc in 3rd ch from hook Ch2. Slst in same ch as dc. Slst in next ch. Sc in each of the next 6chs. Join w/slst to post of 4dc of rnd 2. rep with other side of body. Working on the 12th post of rnds 1 and 2 in the same way. Weave all ends into work.
Wings First side
RND 1: Ch4. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch1, work 12 sc in ring. Join w/slst to first sc.
ROW 1 of first side: Ch5. *Dc in next sc, ch2. Rep from * 4 times more. Dc in next sc. Ch3, turn.
ROW 2: Dc in first dc. *Ch3, slst in 3rd ch from hook. 2dc in next dc. Rep from * 4 times more but on the last one, 2dc in 3rd ch of ch4.
ROW 3: Slst into space between first 2 dc. *Ch3, dc in same sp. Ch3 2dc in next sp between next 2 dc after picot. Rep from * 4 times more. Ch1, turn.
ROW 4: Sc in first dc. *Ch3, join w/slst to 3rd ch from hook. Sc in next dc. 5dc in next ch3 sp. Sc in next dc. Rep from * across. End with a Ch3, slst in 3rd ch from hook and a sc in top of ch3. Fasten off.
Other Side: Repeat Rows 1-4 starting with the first empty sc on RND 1.
Halo
RND1: Ch5. Dc in 5th ch from hook. Ch2. *Dc in same ch as last dc. Ch2. Rep from * 3 times more. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.
RND 2: Ch5. Dc in same st as slst. Ch3, join w/slst to 3rd ch from hook. *Dc, ch2, dc in next dc. Ch3, join w/slst to 3rd ch from hook. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5. Fasten off and weave all ends into work.
Put dress on to dollpin so that the top of thedress is right at the neck. Glue or sew the wings onto the back and glue the halo to the head. You may want to tack the hands together in prayer.
