Flat Filet Angel

This flat angel is the first one I have made with thread in this way. It works up fast and can be completed in an evening.

Materials Needed
Size 10 crochet cotton in white.
1- 1" bone ring
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends

Yarn Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 10sc = 1"
Finished Size: 5"hx5"w
Skill Level: Beginner

Instructions
RND 1: Tie thread onto ring. Work 40 sc in ring.

RND 2: Sc in same st as slst. (Ch3. Sk 1 sc. Sc in next sc. ) Rep bet () 16 times more. Ch1. Dc in each of the next 5 sc. Ch1. Join w/slst to first sc. Ch3, turn. You will now work in rows.

ROW 1: Skip very first dc. Dc in each of the next 5dc. Dc in top of ch1. Ch5, turn. (7sts)

ROW 2: Dc in very first dc. Dc, ch2, dc in each dc across. Dc, ch2, dc in top of ch3. Ch5, turn.

ROW 3: *Dc in next dc. Ch2. Rep from * across. Dc in top of ch3. Ch5, turn.

ROW 4: Rep row 3 but ch1, turn at the end of the row.

ROW 5-16: Slst into the first ch2 sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch3, 3dc in same sp. Sc in next ch2 sp. (3dc, ch3, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Sc in next ch2 sp. Twice.) Ch2. Dc in same sp. Dc in next dc. 2dc in next ch2 sp. Dc in next dc. Dc in next ch2 sp. Ch2. Sc in same sp. Rep bet () once. 3dc, ch3, 3dc in last sp. Ch2. Slst in 3rd ch of ch5 sp. Fasten off.

ROW 6: Turn piece over. Join thread at waist in top of ch2. *Ch5. Dc in next st. Ch2. Rep from * across. Dc in top of ch3. Ch5, turn.

ROW 7 & 8: *Dc in next dc. Ch2. Rep from * across. Dc in 3rd ch of ch5. Ch5, turn.

ROW 9: Dc in very first dc. Ch2. *Dc, ch2, dc in next dc. Ch2. rep from * across. Dc, ch2, dc in 3rd ch of ch5, turn.

ROW 10-12: *Dc in next dc. Ch2. Rep from * across. Dc in 3rd ch of ch5. Turn.

ROW 13: Slst into the first sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch3, 3dc in same sp. *Sc in next sp. 3dc, ch3, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Rep from * across. Slst to 3rd ch of ch5. Fasten off and stiffen as desired.
