Bobbles-N-Shells Purse

This drawstring bag is fast and easy to make. It alternates a round of 3dc shells and a round of bobbles.

Materials Needed
Worsted weight acrylic yarn in Bright Pink
Size H/8 or 5mm aluminum crochet hook
Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Yarn Thickness: 4mm
Gauge: 4dc = 1"
Finished Size: 6"x5"
Skill Level: Beginner

Special Stitch Bobble (bl): Yo, insert hook in stitch indicated, yo, pull up a loop, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook, *yo, insert hook in same stitch, yo, pull up a loop, yo, draw through 2lps on hook rep from * until you have 4 lps on hook. Yo and pull through all 4 lps on hook.

Instructions
ROW 1: Ch13. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch1, turn.

ROW 2 & 3: Sc in each sc across. Ch1, turn. At the end of row 3, ch2, do not turn. You will now work in rounds.

RND 1: 4dc in same st as last sc. 1dc in next row. 5dc in next corner st. 1dc in each of the next 10 sc across bottom. 5dc in next corner st. 1dc in next row. 5dc in next corner st. 1dc in each of the next 10 sc across top. Join w/slst to top of ch2.

RND 2: Ch3, 2dc in same st as slst. Sk next st. *3dc in next st. Sk next st. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 3: Slst to the first sp bet shells. Work between shells from here on out. Starting bl in same sp. Ch1. *Bl in next sp. Ch1. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of first bobble.

RND 4: Slst to the next ch1 sp. Ch3, 2dc in same sp. 3dc in each ch1 sp around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 5: Rep RND 3.
RND 6: Rep RND 4.
RND 7: Rep RND 3.
RND 8: Rep RND 4.
RND 9: Rep RND 3.
RND 10: Rep RND 4.
RND 11: Rep RND 3.

RND 12: Slst to the next ch1 sp. Ch3, dc in same sp. Ch1. *2dc in next ch1 sp. Ch1. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.

Drawstrings:.
Make 2 the same. Ch70. Fasten off. Weave both chains through round 12 going in opposite directions. Tie ends together and trim close.

Random Quick Tip!

Weaving in Ends
Use a metal yarn needle for weaving in your ends when knitting and crocheting. The needle is sturdy and you can split strands of yarn when you weave your end in and go back and forth with your weaving stitches. This makes the end more secure in your work. Also make sure to weave your end in the back of your work where it will be less noticeable. If weaving in crochet thread ends, use a metal tapestry needle for ease in working with the smaller size of the thread.
