My Little Tote

This little tote bag can be made in just a few hours. It took me about 4 hours to make it. It is just the right size for carrying a checkbook and a few other items for a quick trip to a store.
Materials Needed
Worsted weight acrylic yarn in light green. 1.5 oz
Worsted weight acrylic yarn in kelly green. .5oz
Size H/8 aluminum crochet hook
Yarn needle for weaving in ends and sewing button on
1 button either shank or regular. 1" diam.
Yarn Thickness: 4mm
Gauge: 4dc = 1"
Finished Size: 7"x7" not including handle
Skill Level: Beginner
Instructions
RND 1:With light green. Ch25. Work 5dc in 4th ch from hook. The ch3 counts as a dc. Dc in each of the next 20 chs. 3dc in last ch, then work 3 more dc on other side of same last ch to go around corner. Work 1 dc in each ch back to beginning. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 2: Ch3. Inserting hook around post, just under the 2 lps, on back side of work, work a dc in each st around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 3: Ch3. Dc in next dc. Ch2. Sk 2 dc. *Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Ch2. Sk 2 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off light green.
RND 4: Join kelly green to same st as slst. Ch1. Sc in next dc. (Work a dc in each of the next 2 skipped stitches of round 2 working over the ch2 sp.)*Sc in each of the next 2 dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off kelly green.
RND 5: Join light green in same st as slst. Ch3. Dc in each st around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 6: Rep RND 3.
RND 7: Rep RND 4.
RND 8: Rep RND 5.
RND 9: Rep RND 3.
RND 10: Rep RND 4.
RND 11: Rep RND 5.
RND 12: Rep RND 3.
RND 13: Rep RND 4.
RND 14: Rep RND 5.
RND 15: Rep RND 3.
RND 16: Rep RND 4.
RND 17: Ch1. Sc in each of the next 41 sts. Ch12. Slst in 12th ch from hook. Sc in each of the next 9 sts. Join w/slst to ch1.
RND 18: Ch1. Sc in each of the next 11 sc. Ch25. Sk 10 sts. Sc in each of the next 16 sts. Ch25. Sk next 10 sts & the ch2 lp. Sc in each of the last 4 sc. Join w/slst to ch1.
RND 19: Ch1. Sc in each of the next 11 sts. 30 sc in next ch25 sp. Sc in each of the next 16 sc. 30 sc in next ch25 sp. Sc in each of the last 4 sc. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off and weave all ends into back of work. Sew button to center front of bag so the ch12 lp will fit over it to close bag.
