Tassel Kiss Bookmark

This bookmark is made up of 33 kisses in rows of 3! Look carefully and you will see them. Make this for loved ones in your life and let them know that every time they use this bookmark, you are giving them 33 kisses! It is a fairly fast and easy bookmark to make.

Materials Needed:
1 hank, 27.3y or 25m DMC Pearle Cotton Size 5 color num 353.
Size 5 steel crochet hook
business card

Thread Size: 5thread
Gauge: 10sc=1"
Finished Size: 1½"x10½" including tassel
Skill Level: Beginner

Instructions
ROW 1: Ch 16. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch1, turn.

This next row starts the pattern rows.

ROW 2: Sc in each of the first 2 sc. Ch5. *Sk next 3 sc. Sc in next sc. Ch5. Rep from * one more time. Sc in each of the last 2 sc. Ch3, turn.

ROW 3: Dc in next sc. Ch2. Sc in ch5 lp. Ch2. Dc in next sc. Ch2. Sc in next ch5 lp. Ch2. Dc in next sc. Ch2. Sc in next ch5 lp. Ch2. Dc in next 2 sts. Ch1, turn.

ROW 4: Sc in each of the first 2 sts. Ch3. Sc in next dc. Ch3. Sc in next dc. Ch3. Sc in each of the last 2 sts. Ch1, turn

ROW 5: Sc in each of the first 2 sts. Sc in each of the next 3 chs. Sc in next sc. Sc in each of the next 3 chs. Sc in next sc. Sc in each of the next 3 chs. Sc in each of the last 2 sc. Ch1, turn.

ROW 6-44: Rep rows 2-5 10 times.

ROW 45: Sc in each of the first 2 sc. Ch5. *Sk next 3 sc. Sc in next sc. Ch7. Sk next 3 sc. Sc in next sc. Ch5. Sk next 3 sc. Sc in next 2 sc. Ch3, turn.

ROW 46: Dc in next sc. Sc in next ch5 lp. Work the fol in next ch7 lp. (Dc, ch1, dc, ch1, dc, ch1, dc ch5, dc, ch1, dc, ch1, dc, ch1, dc). Sc in next ch5 lp. Dc in last 2 sts. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.

Tassel:
Cut an 8" length of thread. Set aside for now. Wrap remaining thread around business card, around the short side, 40 times. Cut thread. Slip 8" length under threads near top of fold of threads and tie into the tightest knot you can. Slip tassel off of card. Tie remaining thread around tassle near the top where the 8" thread is to form a "head". Wrap the thread around in a coil fashion several times. Then insert your hook up through the center of the "coil" and pull the thread down through to secure it in place. Trim. Cut ends of tassle and trim so they are even.

Tie tassel to end of bookmark in ch5 lp of last row.

Weave ends into back of work.
