This bookmark starts in the round, then works in rows then works in the round. You can make it in an evening and is a great beginner filet pattern.

    Materials Needed:
  • Size 10 crochet cotton in ecru
  • Size 7 Steel crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
  • Yarn Thickness: 10thread
  • Gauge: 10sc = 1"
  • Finished Size: 8"x1½"
  • Skill Level: Beginner

Instructions
RND 1: Ch6, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch4. *Dc in ring, ch1, 11 times. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch4. Now you will work in rows.

ROW 1: Ch1. 2sc in next ch1 sp, sc in next dc, 3 times. Ch5, turn.

ROW 2: Sk very first sc and the next 2 sc. Dc in next sc. Ch2. Sk next 2 sc. Dc in next sc. Sk next 2 sc. Dc in last sc. Ch5, turn.

ROW 3: Dc in next dc, ch2, twice. Dc in 3rd ch of ch5. Ch5, turn.

ROW 4: Rep row 2.

ROW 5: Dc in next dc. 2dc in next ch2 sp. Dc in next dc. Ch2. Dc in 3rd ch of ch5. Ch5, turn.

ROW 6& 7: Dc in each of the next 4 dc. Ch2. Dc in 3rd ch of ch5. Ch5, turn.

ROW 8: Dc in next dc. Sk 2 dc. Dc in next dc. Ch2. Dc in 3rd ch of ch5. Ch5, turn.

ROW 9 & 10: Rep row 3.

ROW 11: Rep row 5.

ROW 12 & 13: Rep rows 6 & 7.

ROW 14: Rep row 8.

ROW 15 & 16: Rep row 3.

ROW 17: Rep row 5.

ROW 18 & 19: Rep rows 6 & 7.

ROW 20: Rep row 8.

ROW 21: Rep row 3.

ROW 21: Rep row 3.

ROW 22: Rep row 3 but ch1 turn at the end.

ROW 23: Sk first ch2 sp. Dc, ch2, dc, ch3, dc, ch5, dc, ch3, dc, ch2, dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Sc in 3rd ch of ch5. Do not turn. Treat each row as a ch2 sp from here on out.

Perimeter: 2sc in next ch2 sp. Ch1, 2sc in next ch2 sp, 20 times. Now you will work on RND 1. 2dc in next ch1 sp, dc in next dc 3 times. Ch3. 2dc in next ch1 sp. Dc in next dc. Dc, ch3, dc in next ch1 sp. Dc in next dc. 2dc in next ch1 sp. Ch3. Dc in next dc, 2dc in next ch1 sp, 3 times. Now work on the rows. 2sc in next ch2 sp, ch1, 20 times. 2sc in next ch2 sp. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.
