Tri Flakes Bookmark
Designed By Julie A. BolducThis bookmark is fun to make and it uses a snowflake motif you could actually use as an ornament. Just make the first motif, stiffen it and hang it on your tree!
Materials Needed:
Size 10 crochet cotton in white
Size 10 Crochet cotton in blue
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Yarn Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 10sc = 1"
Finished Size: 7"x3"

Instructions
RND 1: First Motif. With white. Ch4. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch5. Dc in ring, ch2, 5 times. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.
RND 2: Ch1. (3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 s0. ) *Sc in next dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1.
RND 3: Ch7. Sc in next ch2 sp. (Ch4. Dc in next sc. Ch4.)*Sc in next ch 2 sp. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch7.
RND 4: Ch1. (2sc, ch3, 2sc in next ch4 sp. Sc in next sc. 2sc, ch3, 2sc in next ch4 sp.) *Sc in next dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.
RND Motif 2 : 1-3: Rep rnds 1-3 of first motif.
RND 4: Ch1. 2sc in next ch4 sp. Ch1. Pick up first motif and line it up so that the first ch3 sp to the left of the joining point is lined up where you are on the current motif. Sc in in that ch3 sp. Ch1. 2sc in same ch4 sp. Sc in next sc. 2sc in next ch4 sp. Ch1. Sc in next ch3 sp of first motif. Ch1. 2sc in same ch4 sp. *Sc in next dc. 2sc, ch3, 2sc in next ch4 sp. Sc in next sc. 2sc, ch3, 2sc in next ch4 sp. rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.
RND Motif 3: 1-3: Rep rnds 1-3 of first motif.
RND 4: Ch1. (2sc in next ch4 sp. Sc in 5th ch3 sp on previous motif from last one worked. Ch1. 2sc in same ch4 sp. Sc in next sc. 2sc, ch1, 2sc in next ch4 sp. Sc in next ch3 sp of previous motif. Ch1. 2sc in same ch4 sp.) *Sc in next dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.
RND Perimeter 1: Place piece in front of you horizontally. Join blue thread on first motif to the right on the ch3 sp to the right of where the 2 motifs join. *ch5, sc in next unworked ch3 sp. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first ch of the first ch 5 sp.
RND 2: Ch1. 5dc in next ch5 sp. Sc in next sc. Dc in next ch5 sp, 3 times. Sc in next sc. 5dc in next ch5 sp. Sc in next sc, 7sc in next ch5 sp 9 times. Sc in next sc. 5dc in next ch5 sp. Sc in next sc, 7dc in next ch5 sp, 3 times. Sc in next sc, 5dc in next ch5 sp. Sc in next sc, 7dc in next ch5 sp, 9 times. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work. Iron and starch as needed.
