This bookmark is first worked in the round then in rows. It is fairly fast and easy to make.

Materials Needed:
Size 10 crochet cotton in color of choice. Southmaid in Cream was used in the example.
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Yarn Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 10sc = 1"
Finished Size: 2 7/8" x 8 7/8"
Skill Level: Intermediate

Special Stitch Instructions:
Picot: (picot) Ch3, slst in 3rd ch from hook.

Instructions
RND 1: Ch8. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch1. 16 sc in ring. Join w/slst to first sc.

RND 2: Ch4. Sk 1 st. *Sc in next st. Ch3. Sk 1 st. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 1st ch of ch4.

RND 3: Slst into the first ch3 sp. Ch3, 2dc in same sp. Ch3. *3dc in next ch3 sp. Ch3. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 4: Slst in each of the next 2 dc and into the next ch3 sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch3, 3dc in same sp. Ch1. *3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 5: Slst in each of the next 2 dc and into the next ch2 sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in same sp. (Ch3. Sc in next ch1 sp. Ch3. 3dc, picot, 3dc in next ch2 sp.) Rep bet () 5 times more. Ch3. Sc in next ch1 sp. Ch3. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch2. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Now you will work in rows from here on out. Slst in each of the next 2 dc and into the next ch2 sp. Ch3, turn.

ROW 1: Dc in same space as ch3. Ch2. Sk next 2 dc. Dc in next dc. Ch2. Sk next 2 chs. Dc in next dc. Ch2. Sk next 2 dc. 2dc in next ch2 sp. Ch3, turn.

ROW 2-21: Dc in next dc, ch2, 3 times. Dc in next dc and in top of ch3. Ch3, turn. At the end of row 21, ch1, turn.

ROW 22: Sc in next dc. Sk next ch2 sp. 3dc, picot, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Sk next dc and next ch2 sp. Sc in next dc and in top of ch3. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.
