Waffle Stitch Coaster

This oversized coaster would look lovely on a reception table with fancy wine glass sitting on it. Then after the wedding, the newlyweds would have another momento of their wedding.

Materials Needed:
Southmaid8 crochet cotton in Lilac and white
Size F aluminum crochet hook
yarn needle

Yarn Thickness: 3mm
Gauge: 5½ sts =1"
Finished Size: 5" diameter
Skill Level: Beginner

Instructions With Lilac
RND 1: Ch3, work 11 dc in ring, join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 2: Ch3, dc in same st as slst. Ch3, sk1 st, *2dc in next st. Ch3. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 3: Ch3, dc in next dc. Work 3 tr in skipped of previous RND st working behind 3chs. *Dc in 2 dc. Work 3 tr in sk st working behind 3chs. Rep from around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 4: Rep RND 2. Fasten off lilac.

RND 5: Tie on White in same st as slst. Ch1, sc in next dc. *Work 3 dc in skipped st of previous RND working behind 3chs. Sc in 2dcs, ch3. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first ch in RND.

RND 6: Ch4, slst in 3rch ch from hook. Sc in next sc. Sk 1 st, 3dc in next st, sk 1 st, *sc in next st, ch3, slst in 3rd ch from hook, sc in next st, sk 1 st, 3dc in next st sk 1 st. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first ch of ch4. Fasten off and weave ends into work. Now you have a coaster for your favorite glass or mug! Now go get some coffee and take a break!
