Caribou Coaster
Designed By Julie A. Bolduc
This is another one of those patterns I could not come up with a name for so I named it after the town where my dh was born. Caribou Maine. It uses the Special Stitch. Front Back Bobble (Fbb).
Materials Needed:
Small amount cotton worsted weight yarn.
Size G 4mm aluminum crochet hook
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Yarn Thickness 3mm
Gauge: 4fbb=1" 5rows fbb=3"
Finished Size: 4½"x4½"
Skill Level: Beginner
Special Stitch: Front Back Bobble (fbb)
This stitch is the featured stitch for February.
I am not sure if this stitch existed before. It seems to me I have seen it some place but I cannot recall where so I cannot claim it to be my own. The Long name I give it is the Front & Back Bobble because it is worked in the front lp then the back lp of each st.
*Yo, insert hook in back lp of next st, draw up a lp, yo and draw through 2 lps on hook, yo, insert hook in front lp of same st from the inside to the front, not from the front of the stitch. Yo draw up a lp, yo draw through 2 lps on hook,* yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook. This completes the stitch.
Reverse sc
Insert hook in previous st. Draw up a lp, yo and draw yarn through lps on hook. Rep from beg. This creates a twisted effect.

ROW 2-6: Fbb in each st across. Ch3, turn. But at the end of row 6, ch1, turn.
