Cluster Pentagon Coaster

This simple coaster is fast and easy to make and several can be completed in an evening. You could add variety by using a different color for every row. It would also look great made with variegated yarn!

Materials Needed
Small amount worsted weight cotton yarn. Aunt's Lydia's Denim Quick crochet in Rose, was used in the example.
Size H/8 or 5mm aluminum crochet hook
Yarn needle for weaving in ends.

Yarn Thickness 3mm
Gauge 4sc=1"
Finished Size: 4" diam
Skill Level: Beginner

Cluster Stitch (cl): *Yo, insert hook in sp indicated, yo, draw up a lp, yo, draw through 2lps on hook. Rep from 2 times more. Yo, draw through all 4 lps on hook.

Instructions
RND 1: Ch6. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch3. Cl in ring. *Dc, ch3, dc in ring. Cl in ring. Rep from * 2 times more. Dc in ring. Ch3. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 2: Ch3. *Dc in next dc. Work the foll in the next ch3 sp. (Cl, dc, ch3, dc, cl.) Dc in next dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 3: Ch1. (Sc in next cl. Sc in next dc. 2sc, ch2, 2sc in next ch3 sp. Sc in next dc. Sc in next cl. Sc in next dc.) *Sc in next dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off and weave all ends into back of work.

Dispensing 2 Types of Glue
Since I make paper beads and sew, I use two different types of glue, washable and non washable. I keep the glue in 2oz bottles that are the same. So in order to be able to tell them apart, when they happen to be close to each other, I wrapped a 5.25" piece of colorfully printed duct tape on each bottle. I have one with Zebra print that I use for All Purpose Glue and the other one has tie dye colored duct tape on it for the washable school glue.
