April Hexagon Motif

This Hexagon motif starts with a ring if Citrus Stitches and then is done with regular double crochets and finished with a round of single crochets. It is fast and easy to make and would be a great addition to your hexagon motif patterns.

Materials Needed
Worsted weight acrylic yarn in 2 colors*
Size H/8 or 5mm aluminum crochet hook
Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Yarn Thickness: 4mm
Gauge: 4sc = 1"
Finished Size: 6" from point to point
Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate

Citrus Stitch (citst): Ch5, insert hook in 2nd ch from hook, pull up a lp, *insert hook in next st and pull up a lp. Rep from * 2 more times. Yo and pull through all 5 lps on hook. Ch1 to close.

Instructions

RND 1:W/lavender ch5, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch1, sc in ring. 1Citst. *Sc in ring. 1Citst. Rep from * 4 times more. Join w/slst to first sc.

RND 2: Slst in each of the 4 loops on the edge of the first citst. Sc in tip of citst. Ch4. *Sc in tip of next citst. Ch4. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc.

RND 3: Ch1. Sc in same st as slst. (3sc, ch2, 3sc in next ch4 sp.) *Sc in next sc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc. Fasten off lavender.

RND 4: Join yellow in same st as slst. Ch3. Dc in each of the next 3 sc. (2dc, ch2, 2dc in next ch2 sp. Dc in each of the next 3 sc. ) *Dc in each of the next 4 sc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off yellow.

RND 5: Join lavender in same st as slst. Ch1, sc in same st. Sc in each of the next 4dc. (Sk next dc. Sc, ch1, sc in next ch2 sp. Sk next dc. Sc in each of the next 4dc.) *Sc in each of the next 5 dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc. Fasten off lavender and weave ends into back of work.

*Colors in the example are pale yellow and lavender. I used Red Heart for the yellow and an old skein of Pop'n Yarn I had for the lavender.
