Bumped Shells Dishcloth
Designed By Julie A. BolducThis dishcloth uses one of the stitches, called chenille bump stitch, I came up with that you can find in the Stitches Section of the Reference area on this site. Then a shell of 3 dc is worked in each stitch.
Materials Needed
Worsted weight cotton yarn in denim grey. Aunt Lydia's Denim was used in the example.
Size G/6 or 4.25mm aluminum crochet hook
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Yarn Thickness: 3mm
Gauge: 4sc=1"
Finished Size: 9"x9½""
Skill Level: Beginner
Special Stitch Chenille Bump Stitch (chbmp): Ch3, dc in 3rd ch from hook.
Instructions
ROW 1: Ch38. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch1, turn.
ROW 2: Sc in first sc. *Ch3, dc in 3rd ch from hook. Sk 2 sts. Sc in next st. Rep from * across. Ch3, turn.
ROW 3: 3dc in each ch3 sp across. [the top part of the chenille bump stitch.] Dc in sc at end of row. Ch1, turn.
ROW 4: Sc in sc. *Chbmp. Sk 2sts. Sc in next st. Rep from * across. Ch3, turn.
ROW 5-19: Rep rows 3&4 consecutively.
ROW 20: Sc in first sc. *Ch3. Sk 2 sts. Sc in next st. Rep from * across. Ch1, turn.
ROW 21: Sc in first sc. *2sc in next ch3 sp. Sc in next sc. Rep from * across. Fasten off and weave ends into work.
