Filet Square Doily

There are not very many filet doily patterns that are worked in the round but here is one I hope you enjoy. This doily would also be a great motif used in a table cloth or in a bedspread. It would be a long term project that you could take with you to make up the squares then sew them together when you have enough made.

Materials Needed
Size 10 Crochet Cotton or bedspread weight cotton in desired color.
Size8 steel crochet hook
Tapestry Needle

Thread Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 21dc=2"
Finished Size: 7"x7"
Skill Level Intermediate

Instructions
RND 1: Ch6, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch5. *Dc in ring. Ch2. Rep from * 6 times more. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5. You should now have 8 ch2 sps around.

RND 2: Ch5. *Dc, ch2, dc in next ch2 sp. Ch2. Dc in next dc. 2dc in next ch2 sp. Dc in next dc. Ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 3: Ch3. *2dc in next ch2 sp. Dc in next dc. Ch2. Dc, ch2, dc in next ch2 sp. Ch2. Dc in next dc. 2dc in next ch2 sp. Dc in next dc. Ch2. Sk next 2 dc. Dc in next dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 4: Ch5. *Sk next 2 dc. Dc in next dc. 2dc in next ch2 sp. Dc in next dc. Ch2. Dc, ch2, dc in next ch2 sp. Ch2. Dc in next dc. 2dc in next ch2 sp. Dc in next dc. Ch2. Sk next 2 dc. (Dc in next dc. Ch2. two times.) Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 5: Ch5. *Dc, in next dc. Sk next 2dc. Dc in next dc. 2dc in next ch2 sp. Dc in next dc. Ch2. Dc, ch2, dc in next ch2 sp. Ch2. Dc in next dc. 2dc in next ch2 sp. Dc in next dc. Ch2. Sk next 2 dc. (Dc in next dc. Ch2. 3 times) Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 10: Ch5. *Dc in next dc. 2dc in next ch2 sp. Dc in next dc, ch2, sk next 2 dc. (Dc in next dc, ch2, five times.) Dc, ch2, dc in next ch 2 sp. Ch2. (Dc in next dc, ch2, five times.) Dc in next dc. 2dc in next ch2 sp. Dc in next dc, ch2 three times. Rep from * around but join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch 5 at the end of the rnd.

RND 11: Ch3. *2dc in next ch 2sp. Dc in next dc, ch2, sk next 2 dc. Dc in next dc, ch2, eight times. Dc, ch2, dc in next ch 2 sp. Ch2. Dc in next dc, ch2, eight times. Sk next 2 dc. Dc in next dc. 2dc in next ch 2 sp. Dc in next dc. Ch2. Dc in next dc. Rep from * around but join w/slst to top of ch3 when you get to the end of round.

RND 12: Ch5. *Sk next 2 dc. Dc in next dc, ch2, ten times. Dc, ch2, dc in next ch2 sp. Ch2. Dc in next dc, ch2, ten times. Sk next 2 dc. Dc in next dc. 2dc in next ch2 sp. Dc in next dc. Ch2. Rep from * around but join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5 when you get to the end of round.

RND 13: Ch3. Work 2 dc in each ch2 sp around, and 1dc in each dc around. Work the following in each ch2 corner space. (Dc, ch3, dc.) Join w/slst to top of ch3.
