Filet Snowflake Doily
Designed By Julie A. BolducThis doily is the third doily designed without the use of a stitch chart. It is a good pattern to use if you are just getting started with working in filet crochet. It will teach you the basic filet mesh as well as the lacet pattern of filet.
Materials Needed
Size 10 crochet cotton in white or desired color. Southmaid was used in the example
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends
Thread Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 10sc=1"
Finished Size: 12" from point to point

Instructions
RND 1: Ch18, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch8. (counts as 1dc and ch5 sp.) *Sk next 2 chains, dc in next ch. Ch5. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch 8.
RND 2: Ch5.(Counts as dc and ch2 sp.) Dc in next ch5 sp. Ch5. Dc in same sp. Ch2. Dc in next dc. Ch2. *Dc, ch5, dc in next ch5 sp. Ch2. Dc in next dc. Ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

You will need to stretch each point to make the doily lay flat and give it it's snowflake shape.
