Dresden Doily

This doily is named after a town in Maine but it also is reminiscent of the dresden plate in quilting! It is fairly fast to make and would make a pretty addition to anyone's doily collection.

Materials Needed
Size 10 crochet cotton in white and pink
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends
Ironing Board, spray starch or spray bottle of water for flattening and starching if needed

Yarn Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 8dc =1"
Finished Size: 9¾" diameter
Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate

Instructions
RND 1: With Pink, ch16, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch5, sk 1 ch. *Dc in next ch, ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 2: Ch1. (3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp.) *Sc in next dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1.

RND 3: Slst in each of the next 3 dc and in to the next ch2 sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in same sp. Ch1. *3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 4: Slst in each of the next 2dc and in to the next ch2 sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in same sp. Ch2. *3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 5: Slst in each of the next 2dc and in next ch2 sp. Ch4. Dc, ch1, 4 times, in same sp. 1more dc in same sp. Ch3. Sc in next ch2 sp. Ch3. *Dc, ch1, 5 times in next ch2 sp. 1 more dc in same ch2 sp. Ch3. Sc in next ch2 sp. Ch3. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch4.

RND 6 & 7: Ch5. Dc in next dc, ch2, 4 times. Dc in next dc. *Dc in next dc, ch2, 5 times. Dc in next dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 8: Ch5. Dc in next dc, ch2, 4 times. Dc in next dc. Ch4. *Dc in next dc, ch2, 5 times. Dc in next dc. Ch4. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 9: Ch5. Dc in next dc, ch2, 4 times. Dc in next dc. (3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch4 sp.) *Dc in next dc, ch2, 5 times. Dc in next dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 10: Ch1. Sc in same st as slst. 2sc in next ch2 sp, sc in next dc, 5 times. (4dc, ch2, 4dc in next ch2 sp.) *Sc in next dc, 2sc in next ch2 sp, 5 times. Sc in next dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to fist sc. Fasten off pink.

RND 11: Join white in any ch2 sp. Sc in same sp. Ch21. *Sc in next ch2 sp. Ch21. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc.

RND 12: Slst into the first ch. Ch4. Dc in next ch, ch1, 20 times. Dc in next ch. Sk next sc. *Dc in next ch, ch1, 20 times. Dc in next ch. Sk next sc. Rep from *around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch4.

RND 13: Slst to the next dc. Ch4. Dc in next dc, ch1, 17 times. Dc in next dc. Sk next 2 dc. *Dc in next dc, ch1, 18 times. Dc in next dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch4.

RND 14: Slst into the next dc. Ch5. Dc in next dc, ch2, 15 times. Dc in next dc. Sk next 2dc. *Dc in next dc,c h2, 16 times. Dc in next dc. Sk next 2 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 15: Slst in next 2 chs and in next dc. Ch5. Dc in next dc, ch2, 13 times. Dc in next dc. Sk next 2dc. *Dc in enxt dc, ch2, 14 times. Dc in next dc. Sk next 2 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 16: Slst in next 2 chs & in next dc. Ch5. Dc in next dc, ch2, 11 times. Dc in next dc. Sk next 2 dc. *Dc in next dc, ch2, 12 times. Dc in next dc. Sk 2 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 17: Ch1, sc in same st as slst. (2dc, ch2, 2dc in next ch2 sp, sc in next dc, 10 times. Dc in each of the next 2dc.) *Sc in next sc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc. Fasten off and weave all ends into back of work.
