Fall Flower Fridgie

This flower is an easy one to make and uses the special stitch, the Citrus Stitch. Of course you can use this flower pattern any time of the year by just switching the colors to suit the season. You can also use it as a 3D Flower applique on a basic granny square.

Materials Needed:
Scraps of Brown, Orange, and Yellow worsted weight acrylic yarn.
Size H aluminum crochet hook
Yarn Needle
Piece of sheet magnet about 1¼"x1¼"
Tacky Glue� or some other heavy thick glue or hot glue & a glue gun.

Gauge: 4sc=1"
Yarn Thickness: 4mm
Finished Size: =3½" diameter
Skill Level: Easy

Special Stitch Used
Citrus Stitch (cit): Ch5, insert hook in 2nd ch from hook, pull up a lp, *insert hook in next st and pull up a lp. Rep from * 2 more times. Yo and pull through all 5 lps on hook. Ch1 to close.

Instructions
With Brown
RND 1: Ch2, work 8sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join w/slst to first sc.

RND 2: Ch1, sc in same st as slst. Work 2 sc in each st around. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off brown.

RND 3: Join Yellow yarn in back lp only of any of the sts. Work only in the back lps only for this round. Ch5, slst in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in each of the next 3 chs. Slst in same st as joining. *Slst in next st. Ch5, slst in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in each of the next 3 chs. Slst in same st as slst on center. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first ch of ch5. Fasten off yellow.

RND 4: Join Orange on front lp of round 2 on center. Sc in this lp. Cit. *Sk next st. Sc in next st Cit. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work. Glue magnet to back.

Inexpesive Book Ends!
Make a pair of bookends with small red bricks! You can leave them plain or cover them up with anything you can imagine. I covered one with plastic canvas and a Cat made with plastic Canvas. You could also cover them with scrapbook paper, a crocheted cover or quilting cotton. The possiblities are endless!
