Roman Vase Fridgie
Designed By Julie A. BolducThis vase reminds me of those old antique Roman water vessels or vases. It is fast and fun to make and would make a great Mother's Day gift!
Materials Needed:
Worsted weight acrylic yarn in desired color
2" cabone ring
Size H/8 aluminum crochet hook
Yarn Needle
Magnetic Tape about 4½" long
Silk Flowers of choice
Yarn Thickness: 3mm
Gauge: 4dc = 1"
Finished Size: 5½" long without flowers
Skill Level: Beginner
Instructions
RND 1: Tie yarn onto cabone ring. Ch1. Work 36 sc in ring. Join w/slst to first sc.
RND 2: Ch3. Dc in each st around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 3: Ch1. Sc in each of the next 7 sts. Sk next st. *Sc in each of the next 8 sts. Sk next st. Rep from * 2 times more. Sc in next st. Join w/slst to ch1.
RND 4: Rep rnd 2.
RND 5: Ch1. Sc in each of the next 6 sts. Sk next st. *Sc in each of the next 7 sts. Sk next st. Rep from * 2 times more. Sc in next st. Join w/slst to ch1.
RND 6: Rep rnd 2.
RND 7: Ch1. Sc in each of the next 5 sts. Sk next st. *Sc in each of the next 6 sts. Sk next st. Rep from * 2 times more. Sc in next st. Join w/slst to ch1.
RND 8: Rep rnd 2.
RND 9: Ch1. Sc in each of the next 4 sts. Sk next st. *Sc in each of the next 5 sts. Sk next st. Rep from * 2 times more. Sc in next st. Join w/slst to ch1.
RND 10: Rep rnd 2.
RND 11: Ch1. Sc in each of the next 3 sts. Sk next st. *Sc in each of the next 4 sts. Sk next st. Rep from * 2 times more. Sc in next st. Join w/slst to ch1.
RND 12: Rep rnd 2.
RND 13: Ch1. Sc in each of the next 2 sts. Sk next st. *Sc in each of the next 3 sts. Sk next st. Rep from * 2 times more. Sc in next st. Join w/slst to ch1.
RND 14: Rep rnd 2
RND 15: Ch1. Sc in each of the next 1 sts. Sk next st. *Sc in each of the next 2 sts. Sk next st. Rep from * 2 times more. Sc in next st. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off leaving a long enough end to weave through the last round to gather up. Gather up and weave end in.
Finishing Assembly: Apply magnet strip to back along where each round was joined. From top to bottom Then insert flowers of choice.
