October Square

This granny square is fun and easy to make. The popcorns represent pumpkins and are made with 6 treble crochets in one stitch instead of the traditional 4 or 5 dc.
Materials Needed
Worsted weight acrylic yarn in the following colors, tan, orange, brown and black.
Size H/8 or 5mm aluminum crochet hook
Yarn needle for weaving in ends.
Yarn Thickness: 4mm
Gauge: 4dc=1"
Finished Size: 6"x6"
Skill Level: Beginner to intermediate
Treble Crochet Popcorn. (Trpop): Work 6 trebles in same stitch. Drop loop from hook, insert hook from front to back in the top of the first tr of group, pull dropped loop through stitch.
Instructions
RND 1: With tan, ch4, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch1. 12hdc in ring. Join w/slst to top of first hdc.
RND 2: Ch1. 2hdc in same st as slst. 2hdc in each hdc around. Join w/slst to top of first hdc. (24hdc) Fasten off tan.
RND 3: Join orange to same st as slst. Ch3. Trpop in next st. Dc in next hdc. *Dc in next hdc. Trpop in next st. Dc in next st. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off orange.
RND 4: Join brown in same st as slst. Ch3, 2dc in same st. 3dc in next dc. Ch2. 3dc in each of the next 2dc. *3dc in each of the next 2dc. Ch2. 3dc in each of the next 2 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off brown.
RND 5: Join tan in same st as slst. Ch3. Dc in each of the next 5 dc. 2dc, ch2, 2dc in next ch2 corner sp. Dc in each of the next 6 dc. *Dc in each of the next 6 dc. 2dc, ch2, 2dc in next ch2 corner sp. Dc in each of the next 6 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/sls to top of ch3. Fasten off tan.
RND 6: Join black to same st as slst. Ch3, dc in each of the next 7 dc. (2dc, ch2, 2dc in next ch2 corner sp. Dc in each of the next 8 dc.) *Dc in each of the next 8dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off black and weave all ends into back of work.
