This pretty vase is actually a cover to go over a tall slender plain bud vase I found at Wal-Mart. You could make it in an evening and would make a great gift to give mom with Flowers In it.

Materials Needed
Size 10 Crochet cotton in Ecru
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends.
Tall clear glass bud vase 1 7/8" wide by about 7½" high

Yarn Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 10sc = 1"
Finished Size: 1 7/8"wx 7 5/8"h
Skill Level: Intermediate

Instructions
RND 1: Ch6. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch5. Dc in ring, ch2, 7 times. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 2: Ch5. Dc in same st as slst. Ch2. *Dc, ch2, dc in next dc. Ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 3: Ch5. Dc in same st as slst. Dc, ch2, dc in each dc around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 4: Slst into the first ch2 sp. Ch5. *Dc in next ch2 sp. Ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 5: Ch6. Sc in next dc. Ch3. *Dc in next dc. Ch3. Sc in next dc. Ch3. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch6.

RND 6: Ch9. *Dc in next dc. Ch6. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch9.

RND 7: Ch5. Sc in next ch6 sp. Ch2. *Dc in next dc. Ch2. Sc in next ch6 sp. ch2. rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 8: Ch5. Dc in next sc. Ch2. *Dc in next dc. Ch2. Dc in ext sc. Ch2. Rep from * around. Joinw /slst to 3rd ch of ch 5.

RND 9-28: Rep rounds 5-8 consecutively.

RND 29+30: Ch5. *Dc in next dc. Ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 31: Slst in each st around. Fasten off, weave ends into back of work. Slip onto bud vase. It should be a snug fit.

Stringing Beads Before Stitching
If you crochet with beads, put the beads in a shallow dish to make it easier to scoop them up one or two at a time. When working with beads, most of the time you will need to put the beads onto the thread or yarn first before starting with crocheting.
