Glittery Easter Egg

This easter egg is made with scraps of thread and a plastic Easter egg. It is fast and easy to make. You could make several of them in many different color combinations! This is a great pattern to use your scraps of thread in!
Materials Needed
Size 10 Crochet Cotton in White
Size 10 Crochet Cotton in White Metallic
Size 10 Crochet Cotton in a multi colored thread
1 plastic Easter Egg, 2" x 3"
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Yarn Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 8dc = 1"
Finished Size: Approx 2" x 3"
Skill Level: Intermediate
Special Stitches:
Sc Decrease (scdec): Pull up a loop in each of the next 2 sts, yo, pull through all 3 lps on hook.
Dc Decrease (dcdec): Yo, insert hook in next st, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 lps on hook, twice. Yo pull through all 3 lps on hook.
Instructions
RND 1: With white, ch4, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch3, 11dc in ring. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 2: Ch3. Dc in same st as slst. 2dc in each dc around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 3: Ch3. Dc in same st as slst. Dc in next dc. *2dc, in next dc. Dc in next dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 4: Ch3. Dc in same st as slst. Dc in each of the next 2 dc. *2dc in next dc. Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off white. Weave ends into work.
RND 5: Join pink to same st as slst. Ch3. Dc in same st as slst. Dc in each of the next 3 dc. 2dc in next dc. Ch3. Sk 3 dc. *2dc in next dc. Dc in each of the next 3dc. 2dc in next dc. Ch3. Sk 3 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off multicolor & weave into back of work.
RND 6: Join white metallic to same st as slst. Ch1. Sc in same st as slst and in each of the next 6 dc. (Dc in each of the 3 skipped dc behind ch3 sp.) *Sc in each of the next 7 dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc.
RND 7: Ch2, dc in same st as slst and in each of the next 6 sc. Ch2, sc in next ch3 sp, ch2. *Dc in each of the next 7 sc. Ch2, sc in next ch 3 sp, ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first dc. Fasten off white metallic & weave into back of work.
RND 8: Join multicolor to same st as slst. Ch1, sc in same st as slst and in each of the next 6 dc. (Dc in each of the next 3 skipped dc behind ch2 spaces.) *Sc in each of the next 7 dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc.
RND 9: Ch2, dc in same st as slst and in each of the next 6 sc. Ch3, sk 3 dc. *Dc in each of the next 7 sc. Ch3, sk 3 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first dc. Fasten off multicolor & weave into back of work.
RND 10: Join white metallic to same st as slst. Ch1. Sc in same st as slst and in each of the next 6 dc. (Dc in each of the 3 skipped dc behind ch3 sp.) *Sc in each of the next 7 dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc.
RND 11: Ch2, dc in same st as slst and in each of the next 6 sc. Ch2, sc in next ch3 sp, ch2. *Dc in each of the next 7 sc. Ch2, sc in next ch 3 sp, ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first dc. Fasten off white metallic & weave into back of work.
RND 12: Join multicolor to same st as slst. Ch1, sc in same st as slst and in each of the next 6 dc. (Dc in each of the next 3 skipped dc behind ch2 spaces.) *Sc in each of the next 7 dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc.
RND 13: Ch2, dc in same st as slst and in each of the next 6 sc. Ch3, sk 3 dc. *Dc in each of the next 7 sc. Ch3, sk 3 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first dc. Fasten off multicolor & weave into back of work.
RND 14: Join white metallic to same st as slst. Ch1. Sc in same st as slst and in each of the next 6 dc. (Dc in each of the 3 skipped dc behind ch3 sp.) *Sc in each of the next 7 dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc.
RND 15: Ch2, dc in same st as slst and in each of the next 6 sc. Ch2, sc in next ch3 sp, ch2. *Dc in each of the next 7 sc. Ch2, sc in next ch 3 sp, ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first dc. Fasten off white metallic & weave into back of work.
RND 16: Join multicolor to same st as slst. Ch1. Sc in each of the next 3 dc. 1Scdec. (Dc in each of the next 3 skipped sts behind ch2 spaces.) *1scdec. Sc in each of the next 3 dc. 1scdec. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first scdec. Slip Egg into work bottom first.
RND 17: Ch2. Dc in each of the next 4sc. 1dcdec. Ch3. Sk 3 sts. *1dccec. Dc in each of the next 3 sc. 1dcdec. Ch3. Sk 3 sts. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first dc. Fasten off multicolor & weave into back of work.
RND 18: Join white in same st as slst. Ch1, sc in same st as slst and in each of the next 2 sts. Dc in each of the next 3 skipped sts in front of ch3 sp. *Sc in each of the next 3 dc. Dc in each of the next 3 skipped sts in front of ch3 sp. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc.
RND 19: Ch2, dc in same st as slst. Dc in each st around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 20: Ch2, dc in same st as slst. 1dcdec. *Dc in each of the next 2 sts. 1dcdec. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc.
RND 21: Ch2, dc in same st as slst. Work dcdec all the way around. Join w/slst to first st. Fasten off leave an 8" length of thread. Weave thread through last round. Gather up to close up last round. Weave end into work.

Storing Dice or Playing CardsIf you play cards or dice games alot, you can make a soap saver and use it to keep your cards and dice in. You may want to use a bigger hook to make it bigger so the dice and cards will fit. You can also use the soap saver to hold marbles. This would also make a great double gift for any lucky kid. Just be sure the recipient is beyond the "in the mouth with everything age"
