Fabric Strip Door Mat
Designed by Julie A. BolducThis door mat is a unique shape. Designed to look different and get noticed. I recommend that if you use this outside, you tack it down to a piece of plywood for stability while wiping your feet. Actually I think this would have been better made with rope or twine. You be the judge. I used ugly fabric I have had kicking around since the late 80's but my MIL had it for many years before that. So if you have some ugly polyester fabric, this is a good thing to do with it.
Materials Needed:
2yards 45" wide polyester knit fabric.
Size P plastic hook
Yarn Needle for weaving in ends
Gauge: 1dc=1"
Thickness 1" wide fabric Strip
Finished Size: 3'x18"
Skill Level: Beginner
Instructions
Cut the fabric into one continuous long strip 1" wide. Start at one long end and work your way around the perimeter of the fabric in a spiral fashion. This will take time and you will need to wind the fabric strip into a ball while you are cutting.

Now work a row of sc along the edge of the rows. Work 2sc followed by a ch1 in each row all the way across, and through the starting ring and to the other side. Slst to the 2nd ch of the turning chain on the end. Fasten off and weave ends into work.
