Small Wedding Tealight Candleholder
Designed By Julie A. BolducThis tealight candleholder is meant to be used with a battery operated tealight which you can order online or find in specialty craft stores. It would look great in any holiday decoration or at a wedding. You can use any color crochet cotton you would like to match the season or occasion you are using them for.
Materials Needed
J&P Coats Metallic Knit-Cro-Sheen in Silver & white.
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry Needle
Battery operated tealight
Yarn Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 8sc = 1"
Finished Size: 3.5" in diameter
Skill Level: Intermediate
Instructions
RND 1: Ch6. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch6. Tr in ring, ch2, 11 times. Join w/slst to 4th ch of ch6. (12 ch2 sps)
RND 2: Ch4. Dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. *Dc in next tr. Ch1. Dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch4.
RND 3: Ch4. *Dc in next dc. Ch1. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch4.
RND 4: Slst into the first ch1 sp. Ch1. 5dc in next ch1 sp. *Sc in next ch1 sp. 5dc in next ch1 sp. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off.
RND 5: Join thread to ch2 sp of RND 1 on back side of work on right hand side of dc, with the right side facing you. Ch5. Dc in left hand side of same ch2 sp. Ch2. Work a dc, ch2, on either side of each dc in each ch2 sp around. You should end up with as many dc as you ended up with in RND 2. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.
RND 6: Slst into the next ch2 sp. Ch1. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next sp. *Sc in next sp. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next sp. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1.
RND 7: Slst into each of the next 2 dc and in next ch2 sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in same sp. Ch1. *3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.
Turn on tealight and place inside candleholder.Safety Note: These are designed to be used with battery operated tealights only. Do not use real flame tealights which would create a fire hazard.
