Sequined Ball Ornament
Designed By Julie A. BolducThis ornament pattern is fast, fun and easy to make and is studded with beaded sequins for that touch of sparkle for Christmas.
Materials Needed
Scraps white & red worsted weight acrylic yarn.
Size H/8 or 5mm aluminum crochet hook
1 foam ball, 2½" diameter. I used a satin covered ball with the satin removed

Gauge: 4dc=1"
Finished Size: 2½" diameter

Instructions
Make 2 the same
RND 1: With white. Ch12. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch1. 16sc in ring. Join w/slst to first sc.
RND 2: St cluster in same st as slst. Ch3. Sk 1 st. *Cl in next st. Ch3. Sk 1 st. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of starting cluster. Fasten off white.
RND 3: Join red in same st as slst. Ch1. 2sc in next ch3 sp. *Sc in next cl. 2sc in next ch3 sp. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off leaving a 24" long end on one of the pieces. Weave all ends in except for the 24" end.
Assembly
STEP 1:Center round 1 of one piece over the ornament hanger if you are using an old ornament. Otherwise, just put it anywhere and pin in place temporarily to hold it in place while stitching.
STEP 2:Center other piece opposite the other one and pin in place.
STEP 3:With the 24" long end and the yarn needle, lace the two pieces together on round 3 to form a flat seam. Weave end into work and trim excess yarn close to work.
STEP 4:Stick sequins, pins and beads indesired locations on ornament in this order, pick up a pin, put a bead on it, then put a sequin on the pin with the cup side facing the bead then stick the pin into the ornament where you want it.
