Rippled Rainbow Easter Egg Pillow

Rippled Rainbow Easter Egg Pillow

Designed by Julie A Bolduc

This Easter Egg pillow is fun and fairly easy to make for people who have worked with ripple stitches before. It starts from the bottom up and is worked in the round. If you want the colors to look more balanced, you can start making your color changes at around round 16 and add the color lavender at the end of your color changes for a true rainbow of colors.

* NOTE: I used Red Heart Super Saver for all 5 colors and the white. I had intended to use lavender as well but miss judged where I was in the pillow by the time I finished with the blue color so I did not include it. I would start at round 16 with the color changes in order to be able to add lavender. Maybe in the future I will make another one with this pattern and include the lavender starting sooner in the rounds. I used Caron Simply Soft in the multi color in the example but you can use any multicolor yarn you want as long as it is 4 ply acrylic. I really wanted to use Candy colors for the multi but did not have any.

Random Quick Tip!

Can Cozy
Now that it is summer and you are probably drinking more beverages that come in a can, you might want to make some can covers to absorb the condesation out side the can. Well the pattern for the JPFCup would work great for this! You can get the pattern at
//www.jpfun.com/patterns/14misc/jpfcup.shtml
. But if this does not work for you, you can make a simple dc circle then when it gets to 2-1/2" in diameter, just continue working one dc in each stitch around joining at the end of each round until it is the right height for the can. I would think using Variegated cotton yarn would work best for these covers.
