Triangle Potholder

This potholders starts out as a granny square but then is folded in half diagonally. There is nothing stopping you from making this with acrylic yarn and without folding it to make an afghan out of it.

Materials Needed
1.2 oz Worsted weight cotton yarn in pastel shades.
Size H/8 aluminum crochet hook
Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Yarn Thickness: 3mm
Gauge: 4dc = 1"
Finished Size: 6 ¾" along the 2 short sides
Skill Level: Beginner

Instructions
RND 1: Ch5. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch1. 2sc in ring. Ch2. *3sc in ring. Ch2. Rep from * 2 times more. Join w/slst to ch1.

RND 2: Ch3. dc in next sc twice. 2dc, ch2, 2dc in next ch2 sp. *Dc in each of the next 3 sc. 2dc, ch2, 2dc in next ch2 sp. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 3: Ch1. Sc in each of the next 4sts. 3sc in next ch2 corner sp. Sc in each of the next 2dc. *Sc in each of the next 5 dc. 3sc in next ch2 corner sp. Sc in each of the next 2 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1.

RND 4: Ch3. Dc in each of the next 2 sc. Ch1. Sk next sc. (Dc in each of the next 2 sc. 5dc in next sc. Dc in each of the next 2 sc. Ch1. Sk next sc.) *Dc in each of the next 3sc. Ch1. sk next sc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 5: Ch1. Sc in each of the next 2dc. (Dc in skipped stitch of previous round behind ch1 sp. Sc in each of the next 4 dc. 3sc in next dc. Sc in each of the next 4 dc. Dc in skipped st behind ch1 sp.) *Sc in each of the next 3dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1.

RND 6: Ch3. Dc in each of the next 3 sts. (Ch1. Sk next st. Dc in each of the next 4 sc. 5dc in next sc. Dc in each of the next 4 sc. Ch1. Sk next sc. Dc in next st.) *Dc in each of the next 4 sts. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 7: Ch1. Sc in each of the next 3dc. (Dc in skipped stitch behind ch1 sp. Sc in each of the next 6dc. 3sc in next dc. Sc in each of the next 6dc. Dc in skipped stitch behind ch1 sp. Sc in next dc.) *Sc in each of the next 4dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1.

RND 8: Ch3. Dc in each of the next 11 sts. (5dc in next sc. Dc in each of the next 9 sts.) * Dc in each of the next 12 sts. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.

Finishing Stitching Closed: Fold in half diagonally to form a triangle. Join yarn at one of the folded corners. Working through both thicknesses, sc in each st around to the other corner but work 3 sc in the top corner. Fasten off and weave all ends into back of work.
