Pot Handle Sleeve
Designed By Julie A BolducThis potholder is different from the ones I usually make. It actually slips onto the handle of any pot or frying pan and will not come off unless you take it off.
Materials Needed
Worsted weight cotton yarn in Light Blue
Worsted weight cotton yarn in white
Size F/5 or 3.75mm aluminum crochet hook
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Yarn Thickness: 3mm
Gauge: 5dc=1"
Finished Size: 2½" x 5¼"
Skill Level: Intermediate
Instructions
RND 1: Inside: With blue. Ch20. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch3. Dc in each ch around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. (20 dc)
RND 2-10: Ch3. Dc in each dc around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off & weave ends into back of work. Turn inside out.
RND 1: Outer Cover: With white. Join yarn to first round on starting chain in very first ch. Ch1. Sc in each st around. Work 1 more stitch so you have 21 sts around. Join w/slst to ch1.
RND 2: Ch5. Dc in same st as slst. Sk 2 sts. *Dc, ch2, dc in next sc. Sk 2 sts. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.
RND 3: Ch5. Dc in next dc. *Dc in next dc. Ch2. Dc in next dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.
RND 4: Ch3. Dc in next dc. Ch2. *Dc i next 2 dc. Ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 5: Rep Rnd 4.
RND 6: Rep RND 3.
RND 7: Rep RND 3.
RND 8: Rep RND 4.
RND 9: Rep RND 4.
RND 10: Rep RND 3.
RND 11: Rep RND 3.
RND 12: Turn everything inside out. Fold outer cover over the inside part. Line up the last round to the first round. Work through both layers on this last round. ch1. Sc in each dc around and work 1 sc in each ch2 sp around being sure to work 1 sc in each stitch on the inside layer. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off, weave ends into back of work.
