Baxter Beanie

This beanie cap is easy to make and can be adapted to any size by just changing how many rows you start with for the cuff.
Materials Needed:
Worsted Weight Acrylic yarn in desired color
Size H/8 or 5mm crochet hook
Yarn needle for weaving in ends.
Yarn Thickness: 4mm
Gauge: 4sc = 1"
Finished Size: Fits Older Child to Young Adult Head
Skill Level: Beginner
Instructions
ROW 1: Ch9. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch1, turn.
ROW 2-60: Work in back loop only. Sc in each sc across. Ch1, turn.
Joining Ends of Cuff
Join the ends of the cuff by working a slst in each st of the first and last row across. Ch1.
Now you will work in the round for the crown of the hat
RND 1: Sc in each row around making sure you end up with 60 sc. Join w/slst to first sc.
RND 2: Ch2, dc in same st as slst and in each sc around. Join w/slst to first dc.
RND 3: Ch1, sc in same st as slst and in each dc around. Join w/slst to first sc.
RND 4-14: Repeat RNDs 2 & 3 alternately.
RND 15: Ch1, sc in same st as slst. Sk next dc. *Sc in next dc. Sk next dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc. Fasten off leaving a 12" long end. Weave this end through the stitches of this last round and gather up tight to close the hole. Weave the rest of the end in.
