Cozy Winter Kerchief

This kerchief is made with keeping warm in mind. Any little girl would love to wear this instead of a regular winter hat since it will not give them hat hair! It will keep the ears warm.
- Materials Needed
- 1-2 oz worsted weight acrylic yarn. Red Heart in white was used in the example.
- Size H/8 5mm aluminum crochet hook
- Yarn Needle
- Yarn Thickness: 4mm
- Gauge: 4dc=1"
- Finished Size: Fits a teenager to adult head
- Skill Level: Intermediate
Cluster Stitch (cl): *Yo, insert hook in sp indicated, yo, draw up a lp, yo, draw through 2lps on hook. Rep from 2 times more. Yo, draw through all 4 lps on hook.

ROW 1: Ch65. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch3, turn.
ROW 2: Sk first 2 sc. Cl in next st. *Dc in next st. Cl in next st. Rep from * 29 times more. Sk next 2 sc. Dc in next st. Ch3, turn.
ROW 3: Sk first 2 sts. Cl in next st. *Dc in next st. Cl in next st. Rep from * 27 times more. Sk next 2 sts. Dc in top of ch3. Ch3, turn.

Perimeter:
Turn work over so that row 2 is facing you. This is the right side. Join yarn on the bottom right corner on the first row. Work counter clockwise around the perimeter. You will be working on the ch3 spaces and the dc on the sides. Work 3 sc in each row. 7sc in loop at point. Work 3 sc in each row down the left side. Sc in first row. Ch36, slst in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch to the bottom left corner. Slst in each bottom lp of row 1. Ch36. Slst in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch back to bottom right corner of kerchief. Slst to first sc on corner. Fasten off, weave ends into back of work.
The 36 chains are the ties.
