If you love playing with color, this Log Cabin layout makes it really easy to get the look you want. Because the rounds grow in clean, even steps, you can audition fabrics in a really natural way, lights on one side, darks on the other, or even a gentle color shift if that's your style. Everything lands exactly where it should, so your fabrics do the talking. It's one of those blocks where you can pull a handful of prints or scraps, lay them out in order, and the block practically arranges itself.

Download the ZIP file and leave it exactly as it is. Do not unzip or rename it. Open Sheetworks Studio and choose File → Import New Template. The app will install the template automatically. Please note: Importing templates in Sheetworks Studio requires a purchased registration number. With one single purchase, you can download and import as many templates as you want — no additional fees, no in‑app charges.

Sewn CD Trivets
You can make great trivets by using old CD's and heavy fabric. Make 2 circles of heavy fabric & 2circles of terry towel fabric 1" bigger in diameter than the CD.Then layer the pieces in the following way. Heavy fabric, right side down, terry towel, CD, terry towel, heavy fabric right side up. Hand baste the layers together 3/8" away from the edges being carful not to hit the CD. Then on your sewing machine, work a zigzag around the edges to lock in the frayed edges. Then you can use a decorative crochet thread or yarn and a hand needle to work a blanket stitch around the edge. Then if you wanted to, you can work a row of crochet stitches around on the blanket stitches.
